Caitlin Karolczak combines traditional painting techniques with provocative contemporary themes thus intertwining the past and present via images that hauntingly capture the beauty of circumstances unimaginable to 21st century viewers. Though her artistic method is informed by 17th and 18th century portraiture, she boasts broad exposure that facilitates the unique and profound direction of her work. Karolczak’s art is shown and collected internationally. She is a full-time artist and co-owner of gallery, Spinario, working in Minneapolis and New York. Through this endeavor Karolczak is given the opportunity to handle an impressive assortment of original works including 15th century engravings and paintings by Ray Parker, Zao Wou Ki and Otto Dix.
